Honeywell wins Six Sigma excellence award
January 2008
News
Honeywell was awarded the Novel Idea Six Sigma Excellence Award in September for running the best Black Belt Project in Transactional Processes.
The project driven by Francien de Kock, business analyst - Six Sigma Black Belt - based at their Secunda premises said, "The challenge was to successfully implement a quality philosophy for Honeywell at Secunda, resulting in improved processes and procedures, which were not only measurable but practically operational. We have achieved this through a more focused and dedicated view to problem analysis and putting the systems in place to control processes and improve teamwork."

Prior to implementing the changes proposed, management were briefed on the problems and informed of the remedial action required. "It was essential that all involved understand the need for change for it to be effective," De Kock concluded.
