High-voltage relays comply

GIGAVAC has introduced a range of fully RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant, high-voltage relays. The European Union RoHS directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment. GIGAVAC's RoHS compliant high-voltage relays have a maximum 0,1% concentration by weight in homogeneous materials of lead, hexavalent chromium, mercury, PBB and PBDE; and a 0,01% concentration of cadmium.

GIGAVAC produces high-voltage relays and contactors for test equipment, power supplies, wafer fabrication, RF communications, medical equipment and others in need of high-voltage solutions. President, Mike Molyneux announced, "We believe our RoHS relays are an important step in making the planet a safer place today and in the future. With our expertise in the production of high-voltage relays, we are proud to offer these environmentally-friendly products." GIGAVAC has compliant replacements for almost all relay types enabling easy upgrade to RoHS requirements. The range includes vacuum, gas filled and reed HV relays as well as sealed contactors for DC and AC switching up to 750 V. GIGAVAC will continue to offer non-compliant relays for special-purpose applications such as aerospace.
