New versatile tank gauging system

Endress+Hauser has introduced a new tank gauge designed to provide 'intelligent' tank liquid level monitoring in a range of industries such as petrochemical, chemical, water, food, beverage and power generation. The unit fulfils the industry requirement for accurate inventory management, custody transfer, loss control, total cost saving and safe operation.
The Proservo NMS 53x is flexible enough to measure a variety of parameters which includes liquid level, tank and water bottom, two interface levels and the specific gravity of up to three liquid phases. In addition, the gauge can be connected to a NMT 535/6 averaging temperature probe comprised of up to 16 elements used for deriving volumetric values of the liquid in the tank.
The Proservo is a lightweight and compact unit that offers a level measuring accuracy to within 0,7 mm and can operate at working pressures up to 25 bar. Automatic displacer weight compensation detects build-up or corrosion on the displacer while the calibration is verified via the wire length compensation function. A range of housing materials and wetted part materials is available to suit specific requirements.
A sanitary unit which can be fitted with a built-in CIP nozzle, is also available for use in food applications.
A choice of built-in communication interfaces, including Rackbus RS485, HART protocol and bi-directional serial pulse, makes the unit ideal for applications ranging from single tank to large tank farms.
Other features include a menu driven LCD, secondary 4,20 mA analog output, calibration chamber (at no additional cost), freely assigned relay outputs, IP67 enclosure and certification for explosion hazardous areas, custody transfer and overspill protection.
