Industry support for logistics show

Industry support for Logistics & Supply Chain Management 2002 is gaining pace, and more than a third of the exhibition space available has already been booked.
Logistics 2002, South Africa's international logistics, supply chain management and materials handling exhibition, takes place at Gallagher Estate in Midrand from 13-15 March 2002. Plans are in place to ensure that it will be the country's most comprehensive showcase of niche sector products and services, ranging from production to warehousing.
"As industrialists get back into their working routines, they are re-focusing on their marketing objectives - as a result, the pace of stand bookings is accelerating and a number of industry leaders have committed to exhibiting," said Exhibition Sales Manager Bev Garside.
Among those that have reserved space are: Acrow Shelving, Accutech Weighing Services, Barlows, Janson Products, Komatsu, Saficon/Toyota, Supergroup, Swifflog/Trans-Tele, Trelleborg and Universal Storage Systems.
In 2002, the biennial Logistics exhibition will be co-located for the first time with two other synergistic trade events; namely Electrex, Instrumentation & Control (South Africa's international control and instrumentation exhibition) and Fluidtrans & Airtech (the international motion control and air technology exhibition).
This move was in direct response to exhibitor demand, prompted by the marketing crossovers and business synergies that are rapidly developing between these vertical niche sectors, according to Reed Exhibitions Managing Director Jo Melville.
Another important feature planned for Logistics 2002 is an international forklift operators competition: "We are currently canvassing industry support for the competition in which the cream of South Africa's forklift operators would compete against some of the best foreign-based drivers," said Garside. Exhibition stands can be booked by contacting Bev Garside at the number below.
