Rockwell Automation's managing director retires

Eugene Wannenburg, managing director of Rockwell Automation South Africa, has retired after 10 highly successful years in the position. As an entrepreneurial salesman and inspirational business leader, he made a significant contribution to the company's sustained growth, with turnover increasing threefold under his guidance. Wannenburg will be succeeded by Sean Smith, who was promoted to country manager in 2005 as part of Rockwell Automation's leadership succession plan.

During his time at Rockwell Automation, Wannenburg led the company to achieve strong local growth and played an important role in the significant change in the company's philosophy, from a product driven supplier to a solutions driven specialist. This change contributed to substantial worldwide growth.
Wannenburg and Smith have positive outlooks on the future expansion of the South African economy and on Rockwell Automation's ability to benefit from this sustainable market growth.
