Tyco Valves and Controls secures Sapag JMC distribution
July 2007
News
Sapag Industrial Valves is a leading European valve manufacturer. For over 70 years, Sapag has been manufacturing a wide range of high quality and high performance industrial valves including the JMC range of resilient seated butterfly valves and rubber lined check valves. The company's manufacturing plant which is located in Ham, France, is certified ISO 9001 and produces more than 200 000 quality valves annually.
The JMC product has been represented in South Africa by an independent distributor for 20 years during which time a large installed base of JMC resilient seated butterfly valves has been established throughout southern Africa in industries including sugar, chemical, petrochemical, mining and water.
In order to improve the supply, service and support to Tyco Valves and Controls' (Tyco's) customers and to consolidate the product range offered, Tyco has negotiated its appointment as the sole importer and distributor of this product range in southern Africa.
Tyco plans to use established Sapag JMC sales channels and existing partners such as Emerson Process Management (El-O-Matic) who have been loyal to the brand for many years. The product range will also be available through Tyco's KwaZulu-Natal distributor, Va-Con and Cape distributor, Control Valve Technology. The local company also plans to build on the relationship which exists between its respective Emerson and Tyco European counterparts.
Brian Allingham, MD of Tyco Valves and Controls South Africa, says: "The company has grown rapidly in recent years through continued investment in inventory, personnel and training and we propose to apply this same level of commitment to the JMC product range. We are committed to maintaining inventory at a level which will satisfy the demand for these popular products."
