IDC holds successful third Annual Scada Conference

IDC Technologies recently held its third Annual Scada Conference in Johannesburg. The conference achieved record turnout with 109 delegates attending the two-day event held at the magnificent Blue Valley Golf Resort. The event attracted two renowned scada specialists, Ian Verhappen from MTL, Canada, and Andrew West from Invensys Process Systems, Australia. International guests also presented two half-day pre-conference workshops. Some of the topics included:
* Scada networks: Migrating to a digital future - Ian Verhappen
* Security extensions for standard communication protocols - Andrew West
* Anti virus, firewall rules and configuration - Vladimir Milovanovic
* Wireless telemetry - the way of the future? - Johan Hoolsema
A selection of local presenters was on hand to teach delegates about new developments in scada technology. The conference concluded with a networking drinks event to unwind and give the delegates the chance to ask questions and socialise with experts in the field.
