Cognex, a leading manufacturer of machine vision systems, boasts of having shipped over 300 000 vision systems over the past 25 years. It offers a full range of vision sensors that gauge, guide, inspect and identify parts and that are designed to withstand industrial environments.
Westplex has been active in the field of computer-based automation, test and measurement for over 21 years. During the last eight years the company has embraced machine vision equipment and systems. It represents a comprehensive portfolio of machine vision equipment suppliers and has accumulated expertise in programming and implementing machine vision systems. Working together with Cognex, Westplex will provide complete sales, backup and support of Cognex machine vision equipment and systems in South Africa.
The Cognex product range comprises In-Sight vision sensors and software, DVT vision sensors, Checker sensors and VisionPro software tools.
These devices and software tools provide a powerful yet simple way to interface vision sensors with today's advanced machine or line interfaces, including HMI and scada and facilitate inspection, measurement code reading and object location. Digital I/O and Ethernet connectivity ensure easy integration with PLC systems and into the factory network. Inspection rates of up to 3000 parts per minute can be achieved.
