Festo, the pneumatic and mechatronics specialist, has completed an installation for a French packaging machine company. The company manufactures machines that make both traditional blister pack lines and packaging produced through the innovative carding process.
Festo equipped the carding machines with control systems featuring CPX-FEC controller modules and a servo-pneumatic positioning controller (SPC-200).
The CPX-FEC provides an electrical bridge for CPX valve terminals and incorporates an integrated front-end controller for direct machine mounting. It allows diagnosis, monitoring, servicing and control to be performed remotely.
The SPC-200 handles all closed-loop and open-loop positioning.
The control functions of the two valve terminals are synchronised via Ethernet (EasyIP protocol) and the complete system is monitored by a panel PC using the Modbus TCP protocol.
