New versions of the Wadeco microwave block chute detector are now available from Alltron. The new versions include a long range (100 metre) version, as well as a smart version with adjustable signal gain, sensitivity controls and configurable setpoint.
The microwave blocked chute detector and point level switch provide non-contact detection of solids through a permeable material like glass, plastic, ceramic, tile, PTFE or rubber. When product interrupts the beam between the transmitter and receiver, a contact output is initiated. The electronics enclosure is manufactured from aluminium, the probe from 304 stainless steel and the tip of the sensor is PTFE coated to protect against material build up. The microwave signal can penetrate a build up on the sensor. This makes these devices ideal for dusty applications. The instruments feature easy set-up using dip switches for high or low gain and time delay adjustments.
