RKC has designed and developed the SRV dual loop modular type controller, which can be used alone, or can be connected to build a system with up to 62 loops of control. The SRV is available as heat only or heat/cool and was designed with numerous performance enhancements from the previous generation. This auto-tuning PID controller features both air and water-based cooling algorithms for precise control. A new technology power supply and control circuit reduces heat generation inside the control panel. Power consumption can be as low as one watt per PID control loop.
The SRV mounts to a DIN rail or it can be screw mounted. The dual control modules snap away from the modular base to allow access to the field changeable output modules. Output modules can be replaced without rewiring the SRV.
Side mating connectors for communications and power supply enable modules to be linked easily and compactly. This side mating connector allows the user to spread his I/O across the machine to minimise the machine wiring. This modular design allows the user to purchase only the back plane size required. A maximum of 32 modules can be joined to control 62 loops.
Additional features include two alarms (which may include heater break or loop break), RS485 communications, two event outputs and one event input.
The SRV is suitable for both end-users and the OEM market where reduced panel size and heat generation are concerned. These include plastics, semiconductors, test stands, environmental chambers, plastics, packaging and other heat related processes.
