Southern Africa SCADA, Industrial Automation and Process Control Conference
February 2007
News
Johannesburg: 7-8 March 2007
Over the two day conference a myriad of local and international presenters will discuss the latest technologies, trends and challenges in the area of scada and industrial automation. Attention will be focused on the integration of communications protocols, standards, and scada systems into your everyday business processes. Now more than ever before, industry and utilities rely on their control systems to improve their quality, reliability, efficiency and of course their bottom line.
In order to have a competitive advantage in 2007 and beyond you need to be armed with up-to-date, practical and competent advice to make informed and profitable decisions. Proven tactics far outweigh theoretical decisions and the key to success when working with scada and industrial automation systems is taking advantage of the latest concepts and approaches. To avoid the minefield of disastrous projects and products you need to be prepared when handling new systems. You require the latest know how to defend your systems and prevent vulnerability to security breaches and attacks.
As in the past with previous IDC conferences, this will be a practical event, with an outstanding line up of participants. This conference is non-commercial in the papers presented and offers practical and contemporary take home advice to maximise the value of your scada systems. You will also find it a great networking opportunity with a critical mass collection of experts that you can access.
Papers presented will encompass:
* Protocol security and redundancy issues.
* PLCs and PACs.
* Radio data communications.
* Integration of scada and business solutions.
* Scada communication protocols.
* Case studies of electrical and water utilities.
* Case studies of scada and industrial automation systems installed.
* Troubleshooting tips and tricks.
* Challenges overcome.
* Network security and scada.
* Project management.
* New and emerging scada standards.
* Risk management of projects.
The SCADA Conference 2007 will focus on delegates being active participants throughout the two days. Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in interactive discussions and interviews with all presenters. The aim of this interaction is to avoid the dialogue and one-way presentation style formats that so often occur.
