Safety and security in the spotlight at KZN Industrial Technology Exhibition
February 2007
News
The 13th KwaZulu-Natal Industrial Technology Exhibition takes place in Durban from Tuesday 5 June to Friday 8 June 2007 at the Durban Exhibition Centre and promises to be the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in getting into the swing of things in the region leading up to 2010. The exhibition has been running biennially since 1984 and offers an opportunity to showcase industrial products, services and solutions appropriate to the KZN region. According to Exhibitions for Africa's Dev Naidoo: "We have made a long term commitment to the upliftment of business in the region, and it is exciting to know that the exhibition in 2007 will play a major role in business networking and growth in KZN."
Trade and Investment KZN are once again the sponsors of the event and the primary product categories on show in 2007 will include: mechanical and materials handling technologies; electrical and electronic technologies; chemical and plastics technologies; commercial and business solutions technologies; and safety, health and environmental technologies. In addition, Exhibitions for Africa, the organisers of the event, intend to add a security pavilion this year. The aim of this will be to give security providers an opportunity to showcase their solutions ranging from business security to fire protection and issues dealing with general safety.
The exhibition in 2005 saw over 8000 visitors through the door and according to statistics gathered during the event, the majority were senior decision makers and buyers, with over 80% being in a position to authorise product purchase. Their reasons for attending the event were to see new products and meet new and existing suppliers - confirming that this is a perfect opportunity to get your products out there.
There are different options available for exhibitors, namely they can rent the space only and erect their own stand; or make use of the package for indoor stands which includes a stand shell, a fascia board with the company name on it, carpets, a power point, two spotlights, stand cleaning and editorial in the official catalogue. The option also exists to rent outside space.
With the event only six months away, it is expected that 2007 will attract in excess of the 228 exhibitors that exhibited in 2005.
