Delegates to the annual Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) TIA User Forum Conference at the Birchwood Conference Centre in Johannesburg from 23-25 October 2006 will now earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits from the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) for their attendance.
Hentie Dirker, channel manager for Siemens Southern Africa, says the TIA User Forum has been accredited by the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers and will earn attendees CPD credits that they may claim when applying to renew their registration with the ECSA.
"So, in addition to acquiring new knowledge, attending training courses and networking with their industry peers, delegates at the annual TIA User Forum will also earn 1,5 CPD credits," he says.
CPD was instituted to ensure that all professionally registered engineers and technicians stay up-to-date with the latest technologies in their required fields of expertise. A prerequisite amount of credits needs to be acquired each year to stay professionally registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa. These credits can be obtained by attending and or being part of a wide range of activities that are validated and accredited by ECSA on a continuous basis.
