The 320 to 327 Series motor protection relays from NewElec provide protection for TEFC S1 rated LV and MV metric motors with optimised core laminations and windings and reduced thermal overload capacity.
Accurate overload protection is provided during any phase of the operation, even when used on long acceleration times. The motors are also protected against unbalance current, phase loss, single phasing, thermal overload, start stall, earth fault and short circuits. The earth and short circuit fault protection features incorporate separate changeover contacts for back-tripping upstream circuit breakers. Trip times of 1 s and 100 ms are selectable enabling type 2 co-ordination. Thermal overload protection is available for long starting times.
The 320 to 327 Series are available in amp calibration from 0,8 A up to 1680 A split over seven amperage selection bands. High-energy fault tripping transfer with time delay on the contactor circuit is possible. Motor load indication is via a 4 to 20 mA output interface to a PLC.
A remote thermal/current indication meter, descriptive fault/level monitoring LEDs and user-friendly calibration settings are included.
Typical applications include conveyor motors with soft start starters or DOL fan motors with extended run-up time, crusher motors and compressor motors with cyclic loading Ball Mill motors.
