Co-location expected triple show attraction

January 2001 News

Fluidtrans & Airtech 2002, the international motion control and compressed air technologies exhibition, is expected to treble its buyer pulling power as a result of its co-location with two other synergistic trade shows.

From 13-15 March 2002 at Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Fluidtrans & Airtech will run alongside Electrex, Process Control & Automation (South Africa's international process control and automation show), and Logistics & Supply Chain Management (the country's international logistics, supply chain management and materials handling exhibition).

"While we decided to co-locate these three shows in direct response to market demand," said Reed Exhibitions General Manager Tom McCafferty, "the move is in line with global trends. Significant synergies already exist between these business sectors, and advances in technology are increasing their crossover potential."

Studies by Reed Exhibitions indicated that these three events were focused on attracting similar decision makers and buyers, and that a number of Fluidtrans exhibitors were already supplying products and services to the other two market sectors. "Instead of being forced to visit three events, buyers will now be able to get a broader and far more comprehensive picture of available solutions at a single venue. We expect this will be an important factor in convincing decision makers that this is a must-attend event," he said.

While the three shows would be co-located, they would retain their individual identities: "Each is a high-profile brand in its own right. They are being marketed separately, and will probably be housed in adjacent, but separate, halls."

Exhibitors have responded positively to the co-location of shows: Although the event is still more than a year away, leading suppliers have already begun reserving their stands. "A number of exhibitors booked their stands immediately after Fluidtrans & Airtech 2002 was launched in September," said Project Manager Karyn de Wet, "and the pace of bookings is likely to really accelerate during 2001."
