Control Roadshow in Secunda a success
September 2006
News
The Control Roadshow, organised by Penmac Exhibitions, was held at the Sasol Recreation Club in Secunda in July this year. The show attracted many exhibitors and visitors. The organiser's motivation to host such a networking opportunity has always been to bring together specialist end users and specialist suppliers. It was also heartening for the organisers to note this year that some sections at Sasol were issued with job cards to attend the roadshow.
Some circumstances are very hard to plan for and this was uppermost on the minds of the organisers when there was talk of a labour strike in the week of the Secunda leg of the Control Roadshow. Following closely on the heels of the recent security industry strike, this one had the organisers wondering if there would indeed be any visitors at the show. Sasol had things well under control and fortunately, the strike actions only lasted a day.
A lucky draw for a DVD/HD recorder was held and Thomas Vilakezi from Sasol Synfuels was the winner.
The following companies were exhibitors in Secunda this year: Anglo Allied Engineering, Asco/Joucomatic, Autotech Weighing, Bartec SA, Burkert Contromatic, Extech Safety Systems, Instrotech, KAB Instruments, Laser M, Loadtech Load Cells, Monitor Samson Controls, Phendula Technologies, R&C Instrumentation, Radio Transmission Services, RJ Programmable Techniques, RS Components, Temperature Controls, Thermo Electron, Tyco Valves, Westplex, WNIP, and Yokogawa.
Two more specialised networking events are planned for later in the year in Port Elizabeth on 30 November and the Vaal Triangle on 12 October.
