Siemens TIA user forum 2006

September 2006 News

This is a final call to all Siemens users and interested parties to register for the 6th TIA User Forum. The event is less than a month away and there are limited space bookings left. The 2006 event looks set to outdo the past three years if the interest shown by prospective attendees is anything to go by. The event offers a host of local and international industry expert keynote speakers on the advancements in the automation and control, and drives and distribution fields, as well as end-user and Siemens case studies.

Siemens A&D is proud to announce that the 2006 TIA User Forum will be attended by Greg Gorbach who is the vice president, Collaborative Manufacturing at ARC Advisory Group.

Gorbach brings over 20 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing and industrial automation to ARC, including both as a manufacturer and as a supplier to manufacturers. As ARC's director of collaborative manufacturing research, Gorbach is a thought leader in collaborative manufacturing, and provides clients with strategic advice in the areas of collaborative manufacturing, production management, implementation and integration, plant and enterprise portals, business process management, and related areas.

At ARC, Gorbach's primary areas of focus are collaborative manufacturing, production management, business process management, and the synchronisation of plant systems with CRM, ERP, PLM, supply chain and other business systems. He is a frequent keynote speaker at trade show events and business meetings. He also authors a regular column for an industry magazine.

Founded in 1986, ARC Advisory Group has grown to become the thought leader in manufacturing, logistics and supply chain solutions. ARC's mission is to provide clients with the best practices and strategies to achieve operational excellence and superior results. It focuses on simple yet critical goals: improving customer operational performance, return on assets, total cost of ownership, project time-to-benefit, and shareholder value.

Key focus areas of the event are products and solutions around the Siemens A&D Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) offering, which include:

* Process instrumentation and analytics.

* Factory and process control automation systems.

* Industrial networks.

* HMI systems.

* Large and small variable speed drive systems.

* Switchgear and protection devices.

End-user case studies as well as control and drive system integrator project experiences will be shared with attendees. In addition, numerous advances in technologies will be shared by both international and local experts.

Building on its successful TIA solution, Siemens will launch 'Totally Integrated Power' at the event which focuses on the planning, design and control of power distribution in both commercial and industrial building applications.

Other key focus areas are Siemens A&D developments and successes in the process industries with specific focus on the DCS systems, process instrumentation and analytics.

Building on Greg Gorbach's experiences and research in the MES world, Siemens A&D will present its Simatic IT offering which will show the benefits and value proposition around its MES and MIS offering.
