The KS98-1 controller from PMA (Prozeβ-und Maschinen-Automation) includes modular input and outputs, Profibus capability, ratio and cascade controls and other features. The LCD 160 x 80 pixel display makes the bar graphs and trend displays significantly clearer than earlier models. The display can also be programmed to change colour under certain conditions, such as alarm status, the display colour can be green or red standard. This versatile mini PLC is downward compatible with its predecessors - even the wiring remains unchanged. This controller is supported by powerful software tools such as the Engineering Tool package, PC-based simulator and BlueControl configuration tool.
The capabilities of the KS98-1 are numerous.
Some of these include:
* 100 segment control with or without full or partial step acknowledgement.
* Trending and event-logging for all inputs or any other programmed variable.
* Up to six controllers can be cascaded in one KS98-1.
* Digital inputs can be used to initiate various forms of logic (AND/OR/SUM, etc) or to start/ stop process or segments.
* On-board function library with mass flow, calorimetric and other industry-standard algorithms.
The KS98-1 is a versatile controller that is suitable for many complex and/or remote control problems.
