While some systems trends have leaned towards fibre-optic technology, which is still used in numerous industries, fibre-optic installations still suffer from the inconvenience and hassle of splicing and installation. Wireless on the other hand has none of this, as testing and commissioning is possible before site installation occurs. Numerous PLC systems have been tried and tested - thanks to the transparency of the modems that Satel has developed. This results in an off the shelf product that is suitable for numerous applications.

PLC manufacturers supported include: ABB, AEG, Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Modicon, Omron, Siemens and Telemecanique. Communication via a Satelline 3AS allows the user to connect via different system communication protocols, including: Serial 232, 422 and 485, hard-wired serial, analog, digital and pulse counting.

Satel has been developing system solutions for all industries for the last 20 years. Its products have been used across the globe in most PLC application scenarios to provide convenient long distance solutions.

Smaller systems can also be configured via Satel's own system software which allows basic controls on Mini Link I/O units via PC Pro software. A new 20-year celebration catalogue is available from Satel, which includes all the latest in products and connection options.
