School of Engineering celebrates 50th jubilee

The School of Engineering (previously the Faculty of Engineering) of the University of Pretoria celebrates its fiftieth jubilee this year. The culmination of the festivities is planned for October during which a number of events will take place. The first is the 3rd African Regional Conference on Engineering Education (ARCEE 2006) to be held concurrently with the 4th South African Conference on Engineering Education (SACEE 2006) on 26 and 27 September 2006. Details are available at a research seminar which will serve as a show-window for the excellent research that is performed within the School of Engineering and will be hosted from 16 to 27 October 2006.
Additional events include an exhibition where the School's role in the industry and research environments will be displayed, as well as reunions and a dinner. A new magazine, Innovation, that will provide an overview of contemporary technological and research contributions by the School of Engineering, will see the light as part of the festivities. This magazine will be available on selected bookshops' shelves by May 2006.
