Penmac's Control Roadshow: Bellville under control
May 2006
News
Bellville Cape Town was the destination of the Control Roadshow on 16 March and was held at the local Civic Centre. This year's change in exhibition times, now from 11h00 to 17h00, seemed to suit the occasion well with visitors arriving soon after the doors opened. The venue is located very central to industry in this area and consequently returned another record number of visitors to the show on the day.
Those practitioners involved in control, measurement and automation would recognise that The Control Roadshow represents a high-tech industry, which not only requires knowledge beyond the average IT installation, but often requires an in depth understanding of the process which needs to be controlled. The information one can gain from specialists that display their products at these forums is invaluable and provides an ideal platform for staying in touch with the latest trends and technologies in the industry. Over 200 professionals visited this Cape Town event on the 16th in addition to a large group of technical learners. Exhibitors at this year's event included displays from:
Adroit Technologies, Anglo Allied Engineering, Atlas Industrial Systems, AssTech Process Electronics & Instrumentation, Autotech Weighing Systems, AWR Smith Process Instrumentation, Bartec South Africa, Bürkert Contromatic, Citect, Cape Instrument Services, Coast to Coast Cape, Elexsys, Extech Safety Systems, Instrotech, LabWare Africa, Laser Measurement, Loadtech Loadcells, National Instruments, Phoenix Contact, RJ Programmable Techniques, RS Components, Tec Electrical, Temperature Controls, Throughput Technologies, Westplex, Weigh Data, WNIP, Wika, Yokogawa.
Upcoming 'information forum opportunities' this year include Middleburg, Secunda, Port Elizabeth and the Vaal Triangle. A pending possibility too is Zambia at the end of the year.
