Bluetooth bus modules

In addition to the Bluetooth dongle and the EnOcean radio receiver module, the Wago-I/O-System 750 is getting another radio component: the Bluetooth bus module. Using this module, Bluetooth components can be incorporated into practically any common fieldbus network.

The new I/O module is used primarily as a replacement for a serial cable connection between two nodes in both building and industrial automation systems. It allows simple communication with diagnostic/configuration tools (notebook, PDA), displays or with other fieldbus nodes, even beyond Fieldbus limits.

For the user's point of view, the radio module looks like a normal serial module. The Bluetooth connection and the data exchange are set up via the control system by means of the application programme. No special tools are required. A connection between nodes at widely differing locations is possible using the external aerial. This is particularly advantageous with mobile or retrospectively installed components as well as components with intricate cabling.

With this I/O module Wago expands further the range of wireless components for the Wago-I/O-System 750. A radio receiver module, to integrate the battery-less EnOcean components, like pushbutton, thermal sensor etc. and a Bluetooth dongle are already available. The dongle makes the connection between the service interface of a coupler or controller and a laptop during maintenance and start-up.
