The TOHO J4 is a 48 x 48 mm microprocessor-based digital temperature controller with more features than the TOHO CN-40, its little brother. The J4 has been designed to meet the needs of users who are looking for a high level of cost effectiveness.
This controller's leading advantage is that it has one main PID relay (or SSR drive) output with two additional alarm relays. This configuration is for use in processing machines that require three relay outputs. One output starts the machine at a predetermined value, the main output controls the heater banks and the third output can be set to control a cooling system. This arrangement is suitable for plastic injection machines, glueing machines and any other similar systems.
The same unit can be programmed as a heat/cool controller with additional alarm. The heat/cool arrangement is suitable for combustion equipment suppliers who require the modulation of motorised valves and gas throttle controls. Both main outputs offer self-tuning PID control in both directions with the third output acting as an alarm. The controller has an advanced self and auto tuning function plus a built-in timer to automatically switch off outputs or give an alarm after a required period of running time. This unit enters the market marginally more expensive than the TOHO CN-40 controller.
