Contrinex all-metal inductive proximity switches, available from Gail Norton Instrumentation, are manufactured specifically to cater for the rigors for sea-water applications. Offering total resistance to corrosion by sea-water, cable versions are pressure resistant to depths of 800 m/8 MPa (M12), 600 m/6 MPa (M18), 400 m/4 MPa (M30).
The devices feature a degree of protection rating to IP68 + IP69K and operate over long distances on both steel and aluminium. They have rugged one-piece housing (includes the sensing face) made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel (V4A/AISI 316L/DIN 1.4435). Connection is made by means of corrosion resistant TPE-S cable or S12 connector.
Above- and below-water applications include ships and submarines, harbour installations, locks and docks, offshore installations and fish processing.
