Baumer's Magres absolute encoders, offer the option of single or multiturn configuration. The Procoder is intended for standard applications and the Dignaliser for high resolution positioning.
Choosing the correct encoder brings additional benefits. Reference positioning is no longer required. Baumer's operating principle ensures that the encoder provides an absolute value, even after a power loss. This avoids the use of gears and any additional LEDs, resulting in a reliable and compact solution. Even during a power loss, a low power system will count every turn.
This system is powered by a lithium cell, which has a long lifetime (typically 19 years). The charged state of the battery is continuously monitored - and well in advance of the battery reaching its lowest acceptable level, the encoder sends a warning signal, hence spontaneous failures (associated with standard geared encoders) are avoided.
* The Magres encoders are suitable for harsh industrial applications. They are a compact size with flat housing, they have an extended IP rating and offering long lifetimes.
* The Procoder encoders have a flexible bus interface, programmable resolution, a robust housing concept and a self-test facility.
* The Dignaliser encoders are configured with a very high resolution and offer the highest accuracy. They have a short mounting depth, and a realtime output (60 ns). The Dignaliser comes with a 36-bit output for industrial PCs.
Temperature Controls is the sole agency for Baumer in South Africa.
