Optris sets a new performance standard on the infrared market, with the release of the Optris LS. This portable infrared thermometer allows reliable non-contact temperature measurements of objects as small as 1 mm within the temperature range of -35° to + 900°C. Additionally, a new laser sight marks the exact spot size.
The new laser crosshairs sighting system combined with an optical resolution of 75:1 supports precise temperature measurement at any distance. The laser crosshairs exactly mark the measured spot at its real size.
A switch converts the unit into close focus mode. The cross laser is now replaced by two single laser beams which combine at the focus point for 1 mm spot diameter. This technology enables users to accurately measure objects the size of 1 mm and provide long range measurements all in the same unit. Believed a first in the infrared thermometry market, both standard and close focus units are combined into one infrared thermometer.
An integrated position sensor also shifts the LCD display into the most convenient viewing position. Thus the Optris LS can be used in vertical or horizontal measuring mode, which makes applications more comfortable and easy to read.
A USB interface and a graphic and report software package, with recording function, help to process and record data up to 20 Hz. The package includes the above software package, tripod mounting, contact thermocouple type K, padded soft pouch and a carrying case.
The technology company Optris specialises in the development, production and sales of non-contact infrared thermometers. The product range comprises online sensors as well as portable infrared cameras and pyrometers which are predominantly used for maintenance and process control.
Test bench for temperature calibrating power semiconductors Beckhoff Automation
Temperature Measurement
Precise temperature characteristics are essential for performing power cycling tests on power semiconductors. Infineon Technologies determines these characteristic curves on a test bench using PC-based control. As a result, calibration has become more precise and the efficiency of the entire test laboratory has increased significantly.
