Flowmeter for corrosives and semi-solids

The flow captor is a flowmeter for industrial applications, suitable for the measurement of liquids, semi-solids and a wide range of corrosive media. The small compact unit needs no additional parts. Two versions are available: an in-line version with an integrated stainless steel pipe, and a side entry version, which is inserted into the main flow. A stainless steel pipe runs through the centre of the in-line flow captor, and is the actual sensor element. The flow captor works according to a calorimetric measuring principle (a small part of the pipe is electrically heated) and the heat flow, depending on the flow speed of the medium, is measured electronically. This provides a linear output signal proportional to the flow speed.

Features:

* The in-line unit is available in four different pipe sizes.

* It has a large measuring range, which is fully adjustable.

* The flow captor is low in maintenance.

* Provides long term stability.

* The captor uses a technique which permits non-intrusive sensing, and therefore there is no interference in the flow profile.

* High accuracy in measurements.

* Available in insertion and in-line models.

Uses include any applications where these features are important in the process control of food, as well as chemical industries, some examples would be: cooling systems, steel industry, pump protection, liquid and oil applications, hazardous areas of underground mining and the paper and pulp industry.
