First International Citect user conference

February 2006 News

Citect, one of the world's largest, independent realtime intelligence software companies, has announced that it will bring together the largest gathering of its customer base in 2006 for the first Citect International User Conference.

The conference will take place at the Hilton Hotel, Sydney, from 16-18 May 2006. Over 500 new and experienced Citect users from over 50 countries will convene to learn the latest developments and share their experience in scada and MES solution offerings.

Hennie Both of De Beers Finsch Mine commented: "I am looking forward to Citect's first International user conference and learning more about Citect solutions, technology trends and directions. It will be a great opportunity to network with our peers on a global level and share our experiences and perspectives on industry issues."

For Citect, this is a great opportunity to engage with customers and to provide visibility of future roadmaps and strategic direction of the company. Richard Webb, CEO of Citect, comments: "Citect has been hosting localised user events very successfully for several years. We are now established in over 50 countries and wanted to hold a conference where international customers can network and discuss global technology issues. The conference will highlight real-world performance solutions and examples from companies that have improved plant performance and overall efficiency with our MES offering, Ampla."

The 2006 conference will feature workshops for key vertical sectors including mining, manufacturing, food and beverage, utilities and facilities. Attendees will be able to experience Citect's full product suite through interactive workshops and hear real-world case studies of Citect installations. Citect product experts and developers will also be on hand.

Citect will also be demonstrating a new generation of realtime intelligence software aimed at improving productivity across multiple plants. This new system will offer business managers unique insight into key production metrics in realtime over the Internet.

Other highlights of the user conference include:

* A focus on the operations of IT infrastructure with technically-focused information for IT managers.

* An exclusive preview of Citectscada V 7.0.

* A showcase on Ampla V 3.0, including: advanced uses of Ampla for performance improvement; using standards-based production to business interoperability and learning about Historical Data Processing.

* The launch of Ampla for French, German and simplified Chinese.
