Control cable for any application

January 2006 Enclosures, Cabling & Connectors Mining (Industry) Products & Solutions

Olflex cable has suitable configurations to suit essentially every control application. Custom designed cables with braids, without braids and in different out sheath compounds give the product application specific designs to suit individual needs.

Covered by numerous product categories, Olflex has ranges to suit all system requirements from basic control to highly flexible control to servo/drives cables with high end products suiting robotic needs, all of which have been designed with unique characters like oil and chemical resistance. Categories are broken down as follows:

* Control cable - suitable for basic static and flexible installations and available from a 0,5 mm2-25 mm2 and in core counts from 2-65 cores. Coupled with suitable outer sheaths and braids, this makes Olflex the chosen provider for more than 50% of the control cable market world-wide.

* Servo cable - suitable for all drives/servo units which are available on the market. Supplied in combinations of only power, then only data and a combination of both, depending on client requirements or in some cases the equipment standard. With this range, most important is the screening and also the correct design. Olflex designs include standards such as Siemens, Indramat and Lenze, which are a few of the leading design standards.

* FD cable - suitable for all continuous movement applications where flexibility is slow, medium and fast moving. Designed and tested for more than 6 million bending cycles, long life requirements are catered for to limit excessive downtime. Class 6 stranding and textile braids make this cable the chosen flexible solution. Also available in numerous configurations, Olflex FD cables are able to also be screened from any external EMC which may affect your plant performance.

* Robot cable - suitable for robotic applications where both flexibility and torsion is put to the test. Versions include 180° and 360° torsion with flexing all in one cycle. Robotic cables from the Olflex range have a suited plastic wrap as part of the design to help the torsion tolerance without the performance being harmed.

As Olflex is manufactured solely by Lapp Cable out of Stuttgart Germany, all products meet the highest quality standards available from a cable manufacturer. Adjoining this is a level of service which has been tried and tested as the best possible solution for all control needs.
