Penmac: Marathon 2005
January 2006
News
KwaZulu-Natal was host to the last two Control Roadshows of 2005, where Pietermaritzburg and Amanzimtoti were the targeted industrial centres. It was probably fitting for the 'comrades' to get together at this venue after such an intense year of shows around the country, which totalled 14 in all. By 18h00 on 17 November we had all crossed the 'line' and were ready to slip into neutral and edge up to the holiday season.
In total, throughout the year as a 'roadshow' community, we have interacted with over 1500 dedicated measurement, control and automation users from Rustenburg to Saldanha Bay, with almost 30% being first-time visitors to the shows. For us it is always very interesting to uncover the instrumentation users in areas such as these and learn how much business is done that we may not have been aware of.
2006 will be somewhat less demanding in that we will be limiting the shows to six for the year. Our survey earlier this year has guided us in selecting destinations for 2006, and these will include: Rustenburg, Bellville, Middleburg, Secunda, Port Elizabeth and Vaal Triangle.
