AMS Process Control Systems, the sole suppliers in Africa for the Intellution FIX scada product range, has embarked on a dynamic reorganisation aimed at greater benefits to its customers.
"Customer focus and long-term profitability have always been our goals," said Managing Director Phil de Bruyn when announcing the new business model, "and the new way of doing business is going to emphasise these goals." The new business model has basically divisionalised the activities of the company into three business units. "But what is different from the traditional business unit scenario," continues de Bruyn, "is that each business unit has to fund its operation from profits generated by its activities. This profit-centric approach will cause the units to become very focused in their activities, and this in turn will directly benefit our clients.
"Implementing this new model in current market conditions is a brave step," concluded de Bruyn, "but I believe that we are getting ahead of what could well be the future trend in our industry. In my opinion businesses need to get their focus right to survive - and this is certainly one way of doing it."
