The modular Epic MC system has been expanded with a flexible new module to meet the new requirements for industrial communication. Customers can choose now between 14 different male and female modules and four different frame sizes, and robust Epic Da-Vinchi H-B housing.
The modules can be combined user-defined and this allows a wide range of possibilities.
This ensures high flexibility. All connectors can be customised to best suit the application. The new RJ45 module makes the connection of industrial Ethernet components in the field possible and simplifies the wiring of networks and control systems for engineering and plant construction, for production and process automation, for electrical drives and as well for power engineering and the corresponding allocation systems. Additional integrated power contacts make it possible to supply power to the attached components.
The Epic RJ45 industrial connector offers four power contacts rated at 10 A a.c. The termination clamping range is 0,14 to 2,5 mm2 with a two-unit wide module width. The data contacts are as per standard RJ45 connector and classification is up to Category 5e. The module is easily clipped into the corresponding frame and a large range of machined contacts with varied wire gauge (and plating) can be used for both male and female modules. The RJ45 connector combined with Unitronic LAN cable can be engaged directly in the module housing. Cable entry to the connector is conveniently sealed with the corresponding Skintop cable gland.
