IFM Electronic's compact PK pressure switch is claimed to be the first electronic pressure switch to feature a successful combination of very easy setting and high, long-term stability. This pressure switch is distinguished by a high-pressure peak resistance and excellent resistance against aggressive media.

The PK pressure switch won the Leonards Trophy 2004 in the 'Best components and automation periphery' category. The prize was awarded at the Automation Optimation Europe exhibition in Paris. The PK has a simple operating concept and easy handling. The radial setting rings with a unit scale allow optimum reading. This enables each user to adjust the setpoint and reset point quickly and precisely even without system pressure being applied. Due to the possibility of mechanical locking, unauthorised manipulation is excluded. Two clearly visible LEDs indicate the switching and operating status.

The robust pressure switch can be used in almost all industrial and mobile applications. Hydraulic and pneumatic applications, including applications having gas pressures as high as 40 MPa can be implemented (airconditioning and refrigerating technology). The robust nature of the stainless steel measuring cell ensures high long-term stability and wear-free operation over millions of pressure cycles. Three types are available: the PK6524, PK6522 and PK6520 with measuring ranges of 0-10, 0-100 and 0-400 bar respectively. All types have a G1/4 male process connection and meet IP67 protection.
