Valve position sensor with DeviceNet

July 2005 Valves, Actuators & Pump Control

Turck is offering a new valve position sensor that allows for direct connection to DeviceNet fieldbus networks, the Ni 4-DSU35-2DNETX5-H1150. It is a durable sensor designed for use in a variety of harsh duty industrial environ-ments. Incorporating dual outputs, this inductive sensor is used in tandem with an actuation kit (puck) to monitor the position of rotary actuators.

The M12 Eurofast connections optimise communication speed for quick data exchange at the field level, and reducing connection costs. This compact, low profile sensor provides open and closed positions on most 90° actuators for direct valve control, and gives the user both a visual and electrical position indication.

This versatile sensor can be mounted on several different actuator sizes without requiring additional adapters or spacer plates. The Ni 4-DSU35-2DNETX5-H1150 is manufactured to the VDI/VDE 3845 mounting specification, and can be used on valve stem heights of 20, 30 or 50 mm with outer mounting hole dimensions of either 80 or 130 mm, making it suitable for a variety of valve position applications.
