Turck is offering its multimode MK34-11Ex0 Universal Temperature Transmitter - a temperature measuring amplifier and signal conditioner that receives intrinsically safe thermocouple, RTD, or millivolt input signals and provides a linear 4 to 20 mA output signal (proportionally representative of temperature change) for control equipment in non-hazardous areas. Primarily designed for OEMs and end-users in the process industry, the new transmitter is also an excellent solution for temperature monitoring in the discrete manufacturing sector.
The MK34 transmitter offers superior functionality versus competitive units. The versatile device accepts input signals from 2-, 3-, or 4- wire RTDs, as well as Type B,E,J,K,L,N,R,S, or T thermocouples. Using a switch located on the side of the MK34, users can program the output to go out of range (high or low) when a fault is detected in the circuit. This feature provides an early alert that enables the attending operator to resolve input problems before serious damage occurs.
The 18 mm wide MK34 features LED 'power on' and 'fault in input circuit' indication. The FM, CENELEC, and CSA certified device features DIN-rail mounting and removable wiring terminals that simplify installation and replacement. According to Turck, competitors are unable to offer both internal and external cold junction points for the same device, both are available for the MK34.
