Discounts offered with combo instrument packages

May 2005 News

Comtest is offering its customers as much as 24% off the price of its Fluke tools when they purchase a Fluke Combo Kit from their local Fluke dealer. Fluke designed its Combo Kits so that people could acquire a tool and its accessories at the same time, while benefiting from value-added savings. Bought individually, the items that comprise a Combo Kit can cost up to 24% more than they do when purchased as part of a kit. All too often, a customer buys a Fluke tool without realising the benefits of having its accessories. For instance, the carry case will protect the Fluke tools from unnecessary damage and keep the tools and accessories together in one place. The Fluke Combo Kits ensure that customers get the right accessories for the tool at the time of purchase.

The Fluke Combo Kits provide measurement solutions for mining, industrial and electronics applications and are available through Fluke's sole authorised southern African distributor, Comtest. In total there are six Combo Kits available covering a variety of applications. Here are the combinations most suited to I&C applications:

* The 87V/E Industrial Electrician Combo Kit is specifically designed for technicians. It has applications in mining and is capable of carrying out types of measurement other than purely electrical. It also has applications in a process environment and for variable speed drives.

* The Industrial Combo Kit is suitable for making electrical measurements in mines and includes a Fluke 179 Multimeter, although this tool also comes in an Electronics Combo Kit that is targeted at technicians, with applications in mining and the electronics industry. The Electricians Combo Kit is aimed at electricians, largely for maintenance purposes.

* The Multimeter and Infrared Thermometer Combo Kit is intended for heating, ventilation and airconditioning applications and the 189/FlukeView Combo Kit is intended for electronic maintenance.
