Instrumentation and control for export

May 2005 News

Alltron Instruments locally manufactures its own range of signal conditioners (currently being sold locally in South Africa), has started to export its products, and is currently involved in negotiations with various other distributors overseas to market its products.

The range consists of the AL410-100/110, a PC programmable universal input, DIN rail mount transmitter, available in isolated or non-isolated models, and the AL410-200/210 single loop powered and dual input/output powered signal isolators, also for DIN rail mount.

Universal PC programmable transmitter

These are programmable for inputs from thermocouples, RTDs (Pt100, Pt1000, Ni100 and Ni1000), mA, mV and resistance. They feature an isolated 2-wire loop powered 4 to 20 mA output on the 100 and non-isolated output on the 110 model. Programming the unit for up-scale or downscale failsafe burnout is easy with the Windows-based software.

The software also allows the user to monitor the input and output displayed as a graphical representation, which can clearly show the correlation between the input and output simultaneously over a 120 second time base - a dynamic, realtime representation.

Loop powered isolator

The Alltron range of loop isolators offer a cost effective solution to eliminate ground loop problems without compromising the accuracy of your process control loop. With an accuracy of 0,1% the company offers both galvanic and opto-isolation in a compact DIN rail mounted unit. The 410-210 is a loop powered device and decouples the input and output via isolating transformers. The 410-200 is a dual powered unit allowing the connection of an active PLC/controller input with a transmitter which powers its own output loop and offers the same accuracy and protection.
