Danfoss Drives enters collaboration agrement with Pilz
May 2005
News
The companies Danfoss Drives and Pilz are to combine drives and safety technology, and have now agreed on an appropriate cooperation. The market demands the intelligent networking of safety technology and standard automation systems, and therefore an overall view and solution to automation tasks. For this, safe actuators are of particular importance. The cooperation opens up new applications using Danfoss and Pilz products in different combinations.
As a result of the cooperation Danfoss will equip its VLT AutomationDrive FC 300 with an interface for the SafetyBUS p safe, open bus system. Already possessing additional, integrated safety functions, this provides the drive's users with a safe drive solution that fits into the users' existing safety technology. The bi-directional communication for the safe bus system facilitates operation, parameterisation and diagnosis. As a result, the users can implement such functions as safe stop or protection against restarting quickly and easily.
With the VLT AutomationDrive FC 300 it is already possible to combine various Danfoss drives with the Pilz PNOZmulti safety system into a safe drive solution. The main advantages are monitoring of motor revolutions and numerous other safety functions across several axes. The combination of products in application examples giving customers new safety advantages were presented by Danfoss, Pilz and SafetyBUS p Club International at the Hanover Fair recently.
