LTH has designed a series of low-cost insertion conductivity cells, which are suitable for use in small pure water applications where cost and size are the most important factors. This is the CMC8 Series. This conductivity cell is injection moulded in polypropylene and uses two stainless steel coaxial electrodes. The principal advantage of this construction is that sample volume or the proximity of any pipework does not affect the cell constant. It has a cell constant of K = 0,0135 and is suitable for use on low pressure, low temperature pure water applications. The cell is supplied complete with an integral two-metre connection cable and features built in PT1000 temperature compensation.
They are non-temperature compensated cells, but can be supplied with a 0,5" BSP tee as the constant is affected by the sample volume. The CMC8/01 conductivity cells have a cell constant of k = 0,1 and two protruding electrodes, and the CMC8/10 conductivity cells have a cell constant of k = 1,0, flush electrodes - and is suitable for readings up to 1 000 mS/cm.
These cells require no initial or periodic calibration and the only maintenance required is to keep the electrode surfaces clean. The conductivity cells can be supplied with traceable certification.
