Citect wins AU$325 000 Phillippines gold mine contract
April 2005
News
Citect has been awarded an AU$ 325 000 contract to supply software and services for the new Rapu Rapu Gold Mine Project in the Republic of the Philippines. Under the deal with Leighton Contractors (Philippines), Citect will deliver a turnkey solution to monitor and control mining operations at the gold and base metals processing plants. The solution comprises supply and engineering of its award-winning CitectSCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition), software along with GE Fanuc 90/30 controllers.
"Through this project, we look forward to building ongoing relationships with Leighton in Asia and Australia, and principle design consultants, Lycopodium, from Western Australia, to create further opportunities throughout these regions", said Ken Holder, operations manager, Asia Pacific. "Already working with many of the major mining companies around the world, Citect's appointment is testament to our world-class reputation for delivering reliable solutions to the mining industry", said Holder.
The Rapu Rapu mine will be the first to start under the country's revamped Mining Act (1995). Construction of the mine has already begun and is due for completion by mid-2005. Mining operations will start later this year and continue for six years.
