With compact dimensions (34 mm x 16 mm x 8 mm), the microBOX sensor also excels in terms of easy installation. The sensor itself has two 3 mm mounting boreholes countersunk on both sides, that enable the sensor to be simply mounted and locked in place with M3 countersunk bolts.
The multipurpose adapter (bracket) supplied with the device, in conjunction with commercially available cable ties and taut-bands, enables it to be securely and positively mounted on hoses, pipes or tanks.
The microBOX sensors in the standard version detect bulk materials and liquids through tank walls made of plastic or glass. Thanks to their compact dimensions and their multipurpose cable outlet, they are also suitable for positioning tasks, for example, an assembly table. With a sensing distance range of 1 to 8 mm, the sensor is technically equivalent to an M18 model, but with far more compact dimensions. The multipurpose adapter enables the device to be used as a leak detector in collecting troughs without any additional mounting.
The FSA microBOX sensors are suitable fill level sensors for all aqueous media and liquids with dipole character. They are able to effectively suppress erroneous level detection caused by dirty material deposits adhering or foam formation above the compact medium, and possess almost total resistance to dewing effects on the inside and outside walls of the tank. In standard applications, the FSA microBOX can normally be used without re-adjustment in the factory setting. For fill level applications hitherto regarded as difficult or insoluble, the sensors can be customised by means of a potentiometer.
The microBOX sensor has a housing made of polypropylene, a material that by reason of its very good resistance to chemicals has been widely adopted for use both in the chemical industry and at tank and equipment manufacturers. The control state indicator (LED) is located inside the translucent housing for enhanced protection. The sensitivity can be set using a fine-adjustment 10-turn potentiometer. The potentiometer's setscrew is protected by a cover against unintended resetting. Versions with plug connectors are currently being planned.
