Wireless I/O directly into PLC/scada

The new Elpro WIB radio module is user-friendly, easy to set up and can communicate data directly into scada/PLC systems.

Often wireless systems cannot communicate to other devices through Modbus, Profibus, Device-net or Ethernet protocol. As a result, storing data in a scada/PLC system often requires additional I/O modules that can interface to the scada/PLC environment.

Elpro, a leader in data communications, has recently launched the Elpro WIB radio module that has up to 4000 I/O registers and comes in a wide range of different protocols (Profibus, Modbus master, Modbus slave, Modbus plus, DeviceNet and Ethernet). Consequently, PLCs and scada packages with different protocols can communicate information directly to the Elpro WIB without the need of additional drivers, software adaptations, etc.

All that is required is a PC and a RS232 cable. Modules can also be configured via a set of dipswitches inside the module.

The 105 range comes in various I/O configurations to suit different applications. All radios in the 105 range can update registers inside the WIB modules, which can then be read by a scada/PLC system. This allows the flexibility of integrating the different Elpro ranges into existing Elpro systems. Elpro is exclusively distributed in sub-Sarahan Africa by UniTemp.
