Associated Systems baghouse upgrade

Associated Systems has completed the upgrade of the pulsejet bagfilter plant with ID fans at a manganese smelter. This contract follows the successful design and implementation of a vehicle tracking system and another project for the fire detection control, both for the same company.

For the baghouse control, the Johannesburg-based systems integrator had to carry out the project within three weeks during a shutdown period. All the existing controls were integrated into a single PLC, a Modicon Quantum supplied by Schneider Electric. The six baghouses bag the manganese gas dust.
