Fanless IP65 panel PC in stainless/aluminium

February 2005 PLCs, DCSs & Controllers

MPL, based on its Packaged Industrial-PC family (PIP), is offering what it believes is a unique Panel PC range (Panel-PIP). Without a fan or air vents, the product is flexible and expandable for essentially any customer needs and requirements.

This Panel PC range is available in stainless steel as well as in an aluminium housing (internally chromium plated and externally powder coated). Various display sizes from 307 to 482 mm (12,1" up to 19") with excellent optical specifications with a view angle of up to 89° can be chosen.

A wide selection of different CPUs with lowest power consumption (eg, 5x86 - 133 MHz up to Pentium III 933 MHz with 3D-Graphics processing, 4 x AGP) are available. The 3D Graphic chip used also supports two displays simultaneously, with different images and applications. The LCD is mounted behind an antiglare and protective glass or a touch-sensitive surface.

The complete Panel PC is not affected by the choice of housing material selected (stainless steel or aluminium), is all around IP65/NEMA4 protected and therefore fanless and noiseless.

Depending on the customer requirement, all on the board available interfaces can be accessed externally. (keyboard, mouse, 4 x serial, parallel, USB, LAN, SCSI/Firewire, CAN, CRT/TFT for a second display). The Panel-PIP may also be internally expanded via the PC/104, PC/104-Plus (eg, WLAN, GPS...). The units can be mounted over a standard VESA100 on the wall, on a swivel arm or a socket.

Typical applications for these units could include medicine, marine, food industry as well as in any industrial or mobile (car, bus, train) where quality is a key issue.
