The MTL6000 range of IS Terminals is designed for use as operator stations in the chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, oil and gas production markets, power plants, mills, alcohol processing market, incineration plants and the food and drinks industry. Mounted in the hazardous area they are connected to a PC, which is mounted in a safe area, up to 500 m from the terminal.
The terminals are assembled from a range of IS modular components enabling the user to choose the most effective solution for any particular application.
The operating principle of the MTL6000 is simple. A PC in the control room is connected to the VGA/keyboard/mouse connections on the transmission to the IS terminal in the EX-area using a twisted pair cable. It is possible to connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse in parallel to allow operation in the control room, as well as in the plant. Through this, IS sales solution the costly installation of fibre-optic cables is saved, as well as the difficulties of handling heavy flameproof housings or the need to install compressed air. The installation of this system is very cost effective and can be carried out in a few hours.
