Rockwell Automation recently launched the latest Allen-Bradley VersaView 2000M Flat Panel Monitor, a 20-inch (508 mm) PC display for industrial applications. The larger screen - now available in South Africa - allows for more information to be displayed in a clearer format, improving control and fault diagnosis for machine operators.
Featuring an Active Matrix display for high quality graphics across the full width of the screen, the new 20-inch flat panel monitor provides all users of PC-based control or scada systems with the clearest available presentation of process and diagnostic information. It has been designed to fit into existing 18-inch cutouts, allowing for quick, cost effective installation. The monitor has also been designed for ease of mounting in a control panel or rack.
As part of the complete VersaView range of industrial PCs and monitors, 2000M users will benefit from Rockwell Automation's global support. OEMs can therefore install it with the knowledge and confidence that their customers will receive unrivalled technical support and parts back up.
"Configuration of the monitor is uncomplicated, with all the necessary drivers provided on a CD-ROM and single-button set up. The 2000M offers flexibility as its digital video interface connection permits it to be installed further from the PC than an analog cable would have allowed," states Stephen Rooney, product manager Industrial Automation Business, Rockwell Automation.
The modular VersaView range offers a choice of Windows 2000, XP and CE operating systems, a wide selection of processors and monitors available in sizes ranging from 12 to 20 inches (305 to 508 mm). It is therefore easy to specify a PC-based control and monitoring system precisely suited to the application. The IP65-rated VersaView 2000M is also available in a stainless steel option for food processing applications or other demanding environments.
Today's machine control and information systems offer operators more process and diagnostic data than ever before, enabling manufacturers to improve efficiency and reduce downtime. The new Allen-Bradley VersaView 2000M is one of the largest industrial PC monitors currently available on the market, and its ability to display a wealth of information with improved clarity will ultimately serve to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
In order to enhance the performance of Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Software products, Rockwell Automation offers a range of complementary services. These include asset management, training and technical support, and are designed to optimise manufacturing, improve plant uptime, reduce time to market and drive regulatory compliance.
