The MFC 4100 HART Communicator is a handheld device from Meriam Instrument that allows all HART field devices to be configured, polled and trimmed. It supports universal common practice and device specific commands for commissioning, configuration and maintenance operations.
The instrument has a dedicated memory for 600 HART device profiles and is available with clone, upload and download configurations. In the off-line mode it is able to develop and review these configurations as well as having the ability to document and store over 200 configurations. New device profiles and firmware may be updated from the Internet.
A 13-line, 128 x 128 pixel graphic with a backlit display and full alphanumeric keypad allows the user to edit directly from the review/edit mode. The MFC 4100 has a quick menu access key, HART menu home key and dedicated text edit keys. It also has programmable lockout settings and a contrast key for direct adjustment from any mode.
Combined with Meriam Instrument's 4000 Calibrator/Communicator and Device Management System documenting software, the trio offers a single-source device management solution for continually changing documentation requirements. Meriam Instrument is represented locally by Protea Automation Solutions.
