Red Lion Controls is offering the CSPID2 Dual PID Module designed for use with its modular controller. The CSPID2 Module offers the convenience of 'drag and drop' configuration and downloadable PLC drivers in a high density, 32-zone/single-node module for dedicated PID control outside of the PLC.
"The CSPID2 Module makes integration of dedicated PID control much easier to apply," said Jesse Benefiel, product manager. "Drag and drop configuration and downloadable PLC drivers eliminate writing PLC protocols and lets users quickly integrate with any PLC." Benefiel added, "With two PID loops per module, a single master can accommodate up to 32 loops, saving space and greatly reducing total comms scan time compared to discrete node solutions."
Applications for the CSPID2 Module include plastic extrusion, vacuum forming and blow moulding, packaging equipment, heat-treating, and others - particularly where realtime multizone temperature control is critical.
The compact controller design offers DIN-rail mounting, hot swappable modules for quick replacement, and storage of module configuration data that automatically configures replaced modules. Integrated RS485 and RS232 eliminates the need for serial converters, and 10-BaseT Ethernet provides communications for networked systems. Also available are the eight input, six output digital modules and eight input analog modules, up to eight modules of any configuration can be fitted with a master module.
