Servo-like control from AC motors

LG Industrial Systems SA is offering its iV5 closed loop vector inverter. This unit gives a standard squirrel cage motor servo-like control, making it an economical choice for larger servo systems.

The iV5 is also suitable for torque controlled winding systems used in the printing, paper, board, vinyl and cable industries. When fitted with the ELIO option board, the iV5 becomes a dedicated elevator drive, with the ability to memorise a building with regard to floor positioning. This function allows the elevator to run in to a precise floor level position. An auto-levelling function maintains the floor alignment regardless of load-change.

Protective functions include earth-fault protection 'on the run'. Starting torque can be as high as 250%, depending on the load, with 100% of motor torque being available at standstill.
